Garden Chef's Needle and Pen

It's not a mistake... oh, yes, you read it right--- Crocodile garland, that's it! Last week, I posted about my purple crochet necklace made of Crocodile Stitches . I made it the other week but last week, I worked on another Crocodile Necklace of another color. Here, see this. Do you like the color? Can you spot the difference? I still used the pattern of Tia Davis but this time, instead of making Double Crochet Stitches to create the crocodile stitch, I made Trebles in order to make larger petals. So now, do you see the difference? Or maybe in the next photo you will notice... I've been practicing making all these crocodile stitches in preparation for another project I have in mind. I hope it will become a reality before this month ends, March being the National Craft Month. In my previous post entitled " Crocodile Stitch Bracelet ," I featured a link to Tia Davis whose pattern I used in making a crocodile bracelet for the first time.  Towards the end of that post, I mentioned about my desire to make a handbag made of crocodile stitches. Well, to this post, I still haven't done that but I have made two necklaces out of this stitch already. The first one I made especially for an old friend who spent her vacation at home early this year. I made it in such a hurry that I failed to photograph it before giving it away.  Here's the second necklace I made using purple variegated thread. I like green, so when I saw this bracelet, I was instantly attracted to its color. The original pattern for this bracelet was made by Tia Davis (click here to view). Photo from www.craftown.com  I've seen and read about Crocodile Stitch from various crochet patterns but haven't crocheted anything of that sort yet. As they say, this kind of stitch could look quite complicated   but then I realized after making two or three stitches in a row, it was not difficult at all! Well, now is the first time to make my very own. Yes, anybody wouldn't ever miss the great semblance of the stitches to crocodile scales, hence the name, Crocodile Stitch.   For my first venture on a project made of crocodile stitches, I used variegated yarn for a bracelet  although crochet literature would tell that the stitch would also make very nice and elegant scarves, shawls, flowers, and many other projects.
