Nail Arts Bloggers Unite

I don't know her personally. I just saw her face on my Facebook newsfeed last week when a friend posted about the sad news. Ayana Grace, my daughter who is a nail arts lover, asked me today something about blog link ups and as we exchanged thoughts about the topic, she opened a blog post that features about how bloggers unite in tribute to this very popular girl who has become a You Tube makeup guru sensation and CoverGirl's Honorary Model. Photo from Google Talia Joy Castellano is her name. And just today, I read that this beautiful and talented girl from Orlando, Florida, who has fought with cancer since she was 7 years old, passed away at age 13 last week, July 16, 2013.   "...diagnosed with stage-four neuroblastoma when she was just 7 years old,  started using makeup 'as a wig' shortly after she found out she was sick.  In July 2011, she began filming makeup tutorials in her bedroom —  short, how-to videos for the glam, colorful looks she inve...

Joining a Mother's Day Nail Art Photo Contest

Hello there! It's been more than a week since my last post and I really am not happy about it. Well, I believe I was lost in some events with the family just before the whole world celebrated Mother's Day. For the first time, our family made a double celebration for that day and Ayana Grace's 23rd birthday together. Family bonding it was--- night swimming, watching a movie and enjoying meals out.  Credits to Ana Cristina for this photo But wait, there's more... Ayana Grace and I joined a Mother and Daughter Nail Art Promo by Nails by Chic Centre. Joining the contest is very easy and simple. All we had to do was upload a photo collage of me and my daughter's nail art design using Bobbie/Chic nail products. Ayana Grace did my nails, of course! The voting period starts today until 12 noon of May 31, 2013. Only one photo entry which garners the most number of online votes via the Facebook promo application will be chosen as "Fan Favorite" for the Vot...

Water Marbling for the Nails

I'm not ashamed to admit that I learned about nail art only recently although I have seen the "half-moon" design in my mother's nails when I was still a little child. Little did I know that nail art has evolved so much through the years! Ayana, my eldest daughter, is into it. And now, I have another addition to my vocabulary-- "water marbling". I also learned about this from Ayana. Well, this is what we call learning from the younger generation. Interested to view her own creations? Here, take a look...
