A very timely post for this month's lovers' day celebration. For this post, I am featuring the Pink Meringue Cowl by Jennifer Dickerson. When I saw this cowl, I fell in love with it in an instant. I simply love its color!

The pattern is easy to understand and the steps very simple, one could finish it in jiffy! But wait... I don't have that very same color as the pink meringue cowl in my stash :(( I would have wanted to make exactly one like that but I had no choice but to make do with the best variegated yarn available from the nearest craft store. The rainbow color, I thought, would match any shade of tops.
Well, I had to start working as time was running short... My, my, my, time indeed has run fast... so fast that I was left with only a few more days to meet my deadline. I had to give this cowl to an old friend during our homecoming. That explains the near-panic mode I was in! But uhmmmm... that shouldn't be!
Crochet, as my way of relaxing, has led me into a new discovery. Well, I just learned that one can crochet and, at the same time, think about the recipient of the crochet project and this creates a peculiar feeling. It evokes fond memories of the past... bringing into remembrance happy moments spent with the person... thinking about pleasant memories, thereby increasing one's endorphin levels, keeping you happy and healthy. See, there's a very strong fiber connecting crochet, love and health!
But wait, I discovered that my friend doesn't like wearing cowls! Oh no! Not even on winter?!! So I told her to give the cowl to anybody who might like to wear it. Instead, I gave her one of these rosebuds which she immediately tied on her bag.

For these rosebuds, I used the pattern I featured in two of my previous posts--- Rosebuds as Identifiers and Rose Garden. I'm quite sure many of you received red roses last week. I also did! Such a nice feeling! :)) So how about keeping the sweet smell of red roses in the air the whole year through?!!! Go grab your crochet needle and yarn to make rows and rows of roses!
I really like these "Cowels" you make. I might try making one...they would really keep someone warm where I live. Thanks for the pattern :)
